Shyfted Minds of Metal

For the purpose of better organization, Shyfted Minds will from now on delegate its heavy metal releases to a sub-label, Shyfted Minds of Metal or SHMM. It’s catalog begins with deluxe versions of Red Ankh’s Shadow and Gray double albums, which include instrumental versions of songs. Through this label Red Ankh enters in to the digital retail realm, but these albums can still be purchased for cheaper on Bandcamp, and the instrumental tracks are now included as free bonus material on that channel. Follow the link path through the image above to these, if you have yet to acquire them and would wish to do so.

Here come the gabber mixes

As said, here it be. The Zarkerovense remix that you may have heard a sneak preview of last year made it. K.H.D. was responsible for that of course. Imil and 1nsane returned after long silences on SHM to tackle Ankh’s Terror and New. Dustrict answered the call with a heavy tune much more on the jungle side, but with its industrial build up it fits in fine. Shyft took two tracks as well, totaling six gabber remixes of industrial-metal-themed Red Ankh tracks. Sound familiar? Good. You belong here.  Click the image above or here and enjoy this free release!

Shyfted Minds Merch! And other news

Got money that you don’t need? Want to pay a large corporation a hefty fee so that we can get a small cut and you can get cool representative items of our brands? Then this is the place for you!  Have mouths to feed, don’t feel like turning your body or your flat-faced possessions in to portable advertisements, but would still like to support our creators of cool music?  Look up our individual monikers on Bandcamp and buy some music!

More seriously, Zazzle’s manufacturing fees are kinda high, but so far I have been pretty well impressed with the quality of their products.  I do love my Shyfted Minds jacket, for sure!

In other news, Deluxe editions of Red Ankh’s Shadow and Gray will be released in mid May through Bandcamp and major digital online retailers.  These editions include instrumental versions of Red Ankh tracks, honoring the discontinued, original version of Gray from two thousand eight.  The upcoming K.H.D. release sounds promising so far.  Predaking is working on some thing completely different, some chip-tune drum and bass, and per haps under a different alias.  Shyft has a string of experimental gabber EPs in the works, the first scheduled to be released next month.  Aaaaaaand last, and probably least, the release date for Red Ankh Gray: The Gabber Mixes is as floating around as ever.  It was decided to give the remaining two remix artists an extension to the dead line, since, well, hey!  We were looking forward to hearing those!

Physical CDs for selected releases

To date, there are three Shyfted Minds releases that are available in CD format. Their pages that provide digital down loads link to these physical versions, but, for your convenience, links are provided here.  These releases are also available on Amazon, but this store, a subdivision of Amazon, provides the artists more royalties.

New releases coming soon

You may have spotted a couple of tracks by Divebomb on Predaking’s last release, his huge double album Dark Days.  This is his side project for slower hard core- or regular hard core, for those who find his 190bpm+ works to be too hectic!  We’ll have you know that the first Divebomb solo EP is finished, mastered, and ready for release.  Expect to see it up for free down load early next week.

It should come as no surprise that K.H.D. is at it again with some thing big.  Keep your eyes peeled.

Red Ankh’s Gray is an industrial and metal themed double album showcasing Shyft’s industrial trance side in between Red Ankh’s regular weirdness attuned to industrial metal, or some thing like it.  It appeared as a limited, mostly instrumental release back in 2008 and had new life breathed in to it with many new vocal recordings, updated mixing, and remastering in 2013.  The release promo video teased you with the prospect of a remix EP, which experienced much delay.  Now we are happy to announce that Gray: The Gabber Mixes EP (an enthusiastic nod to Fear Factory) is currently scheduled to be released during the third week of March!  You can expect to see Red Ankh’s guitar-infused tracks remixed in to hard core dance music by Shyft, K.H.D., Dustrict, Imil, Tilduh, 1nsane, and Chromǯ.

Red Ankh’s ‘Shadow’ near completion

The last of the vocal recordings are finished for the upcoming Red Ankh album, and the majority of instrumentation is complete.  Its twenty-three minute epic needs some drum fills and adjustment to instrument articulation, as well as a bit of a mixdown tweak and mastering, and five other tracks need one or two minor adjustments, so look forward to a release date within the next few weeks. Below is the cover art and track list (the physical CD releases will have titles, but I enjoy the representative red-colored ankh and shadows).

Red Ankh Gray out now!

Yep, it’s finally here, the rerelease of Red Ankh’s ‘Gray’ double album.  Bammo, industrial influenced progressive metal.  Get your cyber hands on it here.  This is the first time we are actually asking for money, since money is getting tight over here and time is getting even tighter.  It is only ten dollars for one hundred sixty minutes of music, or fifty cents per track with the exception of the tracks  Tundrome, Zarkerovense, and Secto, which are free.  If you like my music enough to have it but not enough to support me with a means to make more of it in the future, you will be able to find it at places like the Pirate Bay soon enough.

New Releases Very Soon

‘My Webbing Come Undone’ is a symphonic break core track by Shyft written years ago for an album that never got a proper release.  That symphonic break core album, entitled ‘Her Dark Square’, was remixed and remastered last November.  Now, one remix of the four track remix EP for My Webbing Come Undone still needs new mastering, and then that will be complete and the release of both the album and the remix EP will launch, possibly next week.

Surprise!  For the first time in three years, Shyft is nearly prepared to release a new gabber solo album, with six completed tracks and four nearly completed tracks.  This album is to be simply called ‘HonoR’.  Five are dark core or cross breed.  Five are more ‘mainstyle’, sporting catchy yet complex melodies and harmonies.  The title track is a mixture of both.  This album will feature a new version of an old favorite.  Shyft’s primary goal for this week- his spring break- is to finish these tracks.

Finally, ‘Gray’, the industrial metal double album by Red Ankh, is complete.  Expect release of it by some time next week.

The Dustrict and Wizzort album is in its final stages.  Expect industrial, hard core, cross breed

The Predaking album has just a few tracks remaining to be finished, and is now going to feature a second ‘disk’ full of remixes.  Fast, melodic gabber on its way!

Johan Jello has finished his first two track gabber EP, and as all these other projects come together, this will get mastered and released.

Stay tuned.  Things are changing quickly around here now.

From the silence… shadows…

As Shyft types this he is listening to the new K.H.D. double album that shall soon be released, ‘Project Afterlife Transmission’. It is wonderful. Every track is finished and arranged; we are waiting on cover art. Predaking’s new EP is growing in to a new album. Demon’s Breath decided to scrap the EP that we were waiting on as an official release, due to complications postponing the release and feeling that his work on those tracks has become outdated. He hopes to release some thing new with us in the near future. Dustrict’s collaboration with a new artist is still in the works; samples have proven interesting so far.

As for Shyft? As is typical, life has gotten in the way and I have not been able to focus on any art projects in a long time. Despite the projected date, the new book’s release is suspended indefinitely. The writing is done; the editing is done; the sound track is done; and most of the cover art is done, but I still have no idea how to properly market a piece of writing and training a one man marketing team and then making a plan tailored to a specific product takes time that I just don’t feel comfortable devoting to it right now- and I want to do it right. It is majorly frustrating, but at least I have crept back in to my music studio… Red Ankh Gray, the industrial metal double album, is finally nearing completion. Seven of the twenty seven tracks just need vocals recorded, and two of them need instrumentation work; the rest of them are complete. I shall also soon be pressing the priority of remixes for My Webbing Come Undone, so that I can finally release a single of that track alongside the symphonic break core album that features the track- an album that has been complete for almost a year now. Better patience I am learning. I used to be able to do every thing at once, writing ten albums and three hundred pages per year. Things have changed, and I’m getting used to it.

Two new hard core EPs!

Dustrict’s debut hard core EP and a new K.H.D. EP will both be released this Sunday, April twenty-second to commemorate K.H.D.’s birth day! The Demon’s Breath EP is awaiting artwork, and should be ready soon. Shyft’s break core and Red Ankh’s industrial will be released some time before for ever.
